Heading into the 2023 NFL season, the New York Jets were the most hyped team in the NFL, with the beleaguered franchise making a trade with the Green Bay Packers for superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, which many believed was the missing piece of the puzzle for them.
Unfortunately for New York, Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1 against the division-rival Buffalo Bills, which immediately derailed the chances of being a legitimate contender in the AFC.
The Jets instantly lost the leader of the team and their best player, which is something few teams can overcome, and New York unsurprisingly limped to a 7-10 record and missed the NFL playoffs again.
However, the Jets have a chance to bounce back with a vengeance in 2024 with Rodgers healthy and motivated to turn things around, but radio host Dan Le Batard thinks there is a sad state of affairs in New York due to how much head coach Robert Saleh has to depend on the four-time NFL MVP.
“Robert Saleh has no way of winning unless Aaron Rodgers does the winning for him. It’s so humiliating if I’m the coach to realize how powerless I actually am,” Le Batard said.

Although Le Batard may have a point, this is usually the case with teams that have a superstar quarterback running the show, because they wouldn’t be close to being the same team without him on the field and playing at a high level.
That said, it sounds like Le Batard might have an axe to grind regarding the Jets or Rodgers because this isn’t out of the ordinary in the NFL, or professional sports in general.
