The Philadelphia Eagles will be without one of their marquee linemen heading into the 2024 season.
After Jason Kelce’s retirement, fans are interested to see how the offense will operate, and what the team will look like as a whole.
While Kelce has left the playing field, he has already started a new gig with ESPN, one that should keep him close to the game.
Kelce was recently asked about the NFL’s new kickoff rules, giving insight as a former player.
“People want to see kickoff returns. There’s a guy going into the Hall of Fame this year, Devin Hester, who is going in for that exact reason… The game is better when special teams play a factor,” Kelce said.
Jason Kelce “could not be more excited” about the new NFL kickoff rules.

For a long time, kickoffs were a big deal in the NFL, as Kelce points out.
After all, Hester was a phenomenal returner, a caliber of player that we haven’t seen in the league for quite some time.
With the possibility of players returning more kicks with this rule change, however, kickoffs could, once again, turn into jaw-dropping plays.
Who will step up for each team remains to be seen, but fans seem to share in Kelce’s sentiment.
The NFL seems to implement a new major rule every year or two, which can be a positive or negative approach.
For the sake of player safety and fan enjoyment, the new kickoff rules could be a win-win for all parties involved moving forward.
