Jason Kidd is one of the most memorable NBA players of his generation and a Hall of Famer.
Today, he is also known as a very successful coach and led the Dallas Mavericks to the NBA Finals last season.
Now Kidd is receiving a massive honor and is being inducted into the Oakland Sports Hall of Fame.
Kidd celebrated this big news on his X account, thanking Oakland Parks, Recreation and Youth Development for inducting him.

Kidd isn’t the only one earning this honor.
Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics and Gary Payton will also be there on Aug. 9 to commemorate the occasion and what they have done for the city of Oakland.
Kidd was born in San Francisco, which is right next door to Oakland.
He then went to high school in nearby Alameda and attended college at California.
As luck would have it, his NBA career took him a long way from his home state as he played for the Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks.
Now he’s the coach of the Mavericks and is doing great things with the team.
They just had their best season in years and went all the way to the Finals against the Boston Celtics.
Dallas wasn’t able to take down the Celtics but certainly showed that they’re one of the most exciting teams in the Western Conference.
Kidd has improved the Mavericks in many ways, although they still have room to get better.
Next season should be a big one for Dallas, but before that begins, Kidd will return home to celebrate his hometown and all he has done for it.
