Two games into the 2024 Paris Olympics, Team USA men’s basketball is sporting a perfect record and looks like it is by far the best team competing for the gold medal.
Along with LeBron James and Anthony Davis firing on all cylinders as they lead the way for the Americans, Kevin Durant seems to have turned back the clock, and almost everyone else on the squad is playing a role and doing their part.
With the Americans moving on to the next round, even before taking on Puerto Rico in their last game of the group stage, it doesn’t look like there’s any team out there that can contend with them, with Canada and Germany the only two that might come close to making it a competition.
ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins seems to believe that the U.S. team couldn’t get any better.
“This Olympic team, they’re flawless. They’re Beyonce,” Perkins said, via NBA on ESPN.

Although Beyonce is an odd comparison for a star-studded basketball team, Perkins gets his point across, and he’s not wrong, at least for now, until the Americans face a formidable foe in the Olympics.
It’s easy to pay tribute to Team USA when they make easy work of Serbia and South Sudan, but it remains to be seen if they can do the same when Germany and Canada are on their schedule, which is bound to happen at some point.
