The Tennessee Titans have quietly had a big offseason and are heading into a completely new era under a new regime that figures to shift one of the league’s most run-heavy teams toward a more modern offense for the first time in a long time.
A big part of that shift in philosophy involved upgrades in the wide receiver room, which has historically been a weak position year in and year out for this franchise. Thankfully for Titans fans, one key member of that room recently received a positive update after some tough injury news earlier in the week.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared some insight from new Titans head coach Brian Callahan, who said that veteran WR DeAndre Hopkins is indeed out “several weeks” with a knee injury but reiterated that no surgery will be required and that a return after four weeks is likely, meaning Hopkins’ availability for Week 1 is still the goal.
#Titans coach Brian Callahan confirms that veteran WR DeAndre Hopkins is out “several weeks” with a knee injury. He adds that there was no surgery, and source says a return at four weeks is likely (but not guaranteed).
Would allow him to be ready for Week 1.

Hopkins quickly developed chemistry with rookie second-round pick Will Levis last season after Levis took over at quarterback, and Hopkins posted a strong campaign with 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns on 75 receptions.
He was again in line to be the No. 1 receiver but also should have plenty more help this year with the big addition of Calvin Ridley from the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency.
Tyler Boyd also arrived from the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency, a player Callahan is plenty familiar with after years as that team’s offensive coordinator.
The Titans will likely be looking to throw the ball more than they traditionally have, and they’ll need a healthy Hopkins to do so.
This is encouraging news out of Titans camp after a big injury scare.
