The Los Angeles Lakers have plenty of things to address ahead of the upcoming campaign.
They weren’t able to sign a single free agent, so their reinforcements will have to come from within.
Dalton Knecht could make an impact right away because of his shot-making skills, and Max Christie should and could get an expanded role.
On top of that, they have the Bronny James situation, which is going to be a massive talking point for most of the campaign.
Even so, Austin Reaves is looking forward to that.
According to a report by On 3, Reaves is quite excited about watching Bronny’s development and how he’ll fare playing alongside his father:
Bronny and LeBron James will become the first-ever father-son duo to play on the same team in the NBA, and that speaks volumes about James’ unmatched durability, even if he had Bronny at a young age.
The Lakers and Klutch Sports drew plenty of criticism for the way they handled Bronny’s situation, not to mention the fact that he got a significantly better contract than most No. 55 picks get.
Bronny is expected to spend most of his time in the G-League, at least early in his career.
And while some might argue that Bronny is taking a roster spot away from a more deserving player and complain about nepotism and rightfully so, that’s the kind of perk that comes with being the son of one of the greatest athletes of all time; that’s just the way the world works.
