The San Francisco 49ers are set up well to compete for a Super Bowl during the 2024 NFL season as they’ve got a great mix of coaching and talent to get them there.

Under head coach Kyle Shannahan, the 49ers have been one of the best and most consistent teams over the years though it just hasn’t resulted in a championship.

Defensively, San Francisco is loaded with pass-rushing talent while on the backend they’ve got a young and improving secondary that can hold its own.

Offensively is where the 49ers really shine, though, as they’ve got explosive weapons at all phases of the field.

The pass game, in particular, is potent as the team has Deebo Samuel and George Kittle leading the way though the most talented of the group is Brandon Aiyuk.

However, Aiyuk and San Francisco have yet to come to terms on a long-term extension and it appears that two AFC teams are the leading candidates to trade for the disgruntled receiver via NBC Sports.

“The Cleveland Browns and the New England Patriots are the most-likely trade partners, according to a report Saturday from Cam Marino of NFLdraftbuzz.”

Both the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns make sense as landing spots for Aiyuk as they are in desperate need of more downfield threats.

Aiyuk would give Patriots rookie Drake Maye to lean on, while he could also be a difference-maker for a Browns team looking to make some noise in the AFC North.

For now, Aiyuk projects to stay put though things can change quickly in the coming weeks.
