The NBA is in the midst of its dead period as most teams have made their major moves of the offseason, leaving rosters mostly settled for the 2024-25 NBA season.

However, there are still some free agents left on the board that could help contending teams and playoff hopefuls make a push.

The Philadelphia 76ers have to be considered one of the winners of the offseason after they managed to lure Paul George away from the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 76ers now boast a “Big 3” of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and George along with several strong role players to support them.

Elsewhere in the Eastern Conference lies the Cleveland Cavaliers who could assert themselves into the title conversation after re-signing their young bigs in Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen.

Both Philadelphia and Cleveland are attractive landing spots for veterans looking to chase a ring and it appears they’re the leaders for Marcus Morris’s services via Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“The Sixers and the Cavs are the leaders in the Marcus Morris sweepstakes,” Pompey reported. “For Morris’ comfort level, the Sixers and Cavs appear to have the best chances to land him.”

Morris split his time between the 76ers and the Cavaliers during the 2023-24 NBA season, finishing the year out with the latter after he was bought out by the San Antonio Spurs.

At this stage of his career, Morris is nothing more than a bench player who can come in and space the floor so it’ll be interesting to see which team he ends up signing with this summer.
