With about a month left before the NFL regular season gets underway, with the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens starting things off in an AFC Championship Game rematch on September 5, everyone is starting to give their two cents on which teams improved the most over the course of the offseason.
Although there are many candidates for the distinction of having improved the most from last season to now, Steve Wyche of The Sporting News says only two stand out, and both are legitimate Super Bowl title contenders in 2024.
While speaking with Rich Eisen about the two teams that have improved the most this NFL offseason, Wyche believes it comes down to the Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans via Houston Stressans.

After having an incredible 2023 campaign that no one saw coming, the Texans being one of the teams to improve the most over the offseason is impressive, to say the least.
Houston was already on the right path with quarterback CJ Stroud leading the way on offense and Will Anderson Jr. being the leader on defense, but they added two key pieces to the puzzle with superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs and veteran defensive end Danielle Hunter.
Along with Houston making some significant moves, the Lions addressed the defensive side of the football, which was the team’s most significant flaw last season, adding rookie corner Terrion Arnold and defensive tackle DJ Reader.
Ironically enough, these two teams could be the two left standing in the AFC and NFC and might be a Super Bowl matchup when it is all said and done.
