The Philadelphia Eagles don’t want to leave a stone unturned in their pursuit of a glorious comeback next season.

They already have one of the most stacked rosters in the game, but you can never have too much depth, especially on defense.

With that in mind, they’ve made a run at former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Shaquille Quarterman.

According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jaguars have signed him to a one-year contract.

As of now, the team hasn’t announced any corresponding move to create room for the former fourth-round pick.

Quarterman spent his first four seasons with the Jaguars, making 63 appearances with no starts, and spending most of his time with special teams.

Throughout the course of his four-year career, he’s logged 54 tackles.

The Miami product, however, has played over 200 special teams snaps in every season, and it seems like the Eagles have had their sights on him for quite a while, as he was with them at rookie camp on a tryout basis.

He’s now the second veteran player from those tryouts to get a deal, joining WR John Ross.

Whether he’s going to make the 53-man roster remains to be seen, as the Eagles have more than enough talent at all positions.

Then again, given his versatility as a special teams player, he could sneak his way on the roster.
