The Kansas City Chiefs have seen a lot of both Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson over the last few seasons.

In fact, they faced both of them in the playoffs this past postseason and sent both home packing.

However, analyst John Middlekauff believes that Allen puts more of a scare into the Chiefs than Jackson does.

“Josh Allen is a better player than Lamar Jackson…They feared Josh Allen. They were excited to play Lamar,” Middlekauff recently said on The Colin Cowherd Podcast.

This is a sensible take considering Allen is one of the most complete players in the game.

At 6-5, 240 pounds, Allen has recorded over 40 total touchdowns in each of the last four seasons.

He can throw the ball out of the stadium or he can run through defenders.

Even though Kansas City has taken care of business most of the time against Buffalo, Allen can do so many things.

Jackson is a great running quarterback who can blow by any defender.

However, he has thrown for over 25 touchdowns just twice in his career and has a passer rating of just 75.7 in the playoffs.

The former Heisman winner is a great regular-season player, but he hasn’t been good enough in January.

Of course, the same could be said for Allen too, but the fact that he is a better all-around player is what Middlekauff is alluding to.

That is why he thinks Kansas City is more afraid of Allen than Jackson.

Keep in mind that Kansas City is 4-1 vs Baltimore and 4-3 against Buffalo since Mahomes took over as the starter in 2018.
