A surprising decision has come out of the building in the Music City with the Titans.
According to NFL insider Ari Meirov, offensive guard Saahdiq Charles is retiring from the NFL at just 25 years of age.
As Meirov notes, Charles had been taking most of the starting reps at right guard during training camp.

Charles was about to enter his fifth NFL season at just 25 years of age, so he is still very young and is now free to pursue other endeavors.
The former national champion at LSU dealt with a lot of injuries in his four NFL seasons before this offseason.
He battled multiple lower-body injuries, including a dislocated kneecap, as well as COVID-19.
This kind of retirement is especially rare because of both the age of the player and the timing of it.
Something sudden could have come up in his personal life or his mind that was telling him that it was time to hang up his cleats.
After being drafted by Washington in the fourth round in 2020, he would go on to play in a total of 35 games and start in 18 of them.
Despite being signed as a free agent by the Titans earlier this offseason, Charles is seemingly content with his football life and ready to walk away.
On the Titans’ end of things, look for Dillon Radunz and Lachavious Simmons to battle it out for that right guard position.
First-year head coach Brian Callahan could have a big decision to make at the end of the preseason.
