Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees can’t seem to miss this season, and the superstar outfielder has been on a historic tear for pretty much the entire summer at this point.
It has gotten to the point where a new stat pops up every day that further solidifies him among some of the greatest ever, and he recently bumped one of his season-long stats over a round number that hasn’t been seen in 20 years.
Baseball Reference shared on X that Judge’s slugging percentage of .701 would make him the first player since Barry Bonds in 2004 to slug over .700 with at least 300 plate appearances in a season.
Aaron Judge is slugging .701 this season.
The last player to have a SLG% over .700 in a season with at least 300 PA was Barry Bonds in 2004.#Yankees | #RepBX pic.twitter.com/LIw4LLMlQl

Bonds slugged an unfathomable .812 in 2004 which was the fourth consecutive year he slugged over .700 and his first time over .800 since he set the MLB record with 73 home runs in 2001 and slugged a ridiculous .863.
Judge slugged .686 in 2022 when he set the American League record with 62 homers, and he is currently on pace for 59 this season.
The other names on the list Baseball Reference shared are some of the best power hitters of all time who all played in different eras than Judge, and it’s becoming commonplace to see Judge listed with some of these all-time greats.
Judge has his second MVP all but wrapped up at this point as his numbers continue to get more comical by the day to the point where he is now starting to get more of the Barry Bonds treatment.
Teams are finally starting to realize that they are better off intentionally walking Judge, so his chances to improve upon this slugging percentage are going to be few and far between the rest of this season.
