The Atlanta Falcons are currently dealing with some tough news.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, wide receiver Rondale Moore, who was traded to Atlanta from Arizona earlier this offseason, was recently carted off the practice field with an inflatable cast on his right leg.

That is not exactly the sight that head coach Raheem Morris had in mind ahead of the team’s first preseason game.

Moore was one of a couple of weapons that the team brought in around Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins.

They were also able to sign former 1,000-yard wide receiver Darnell Mooney and gadget player Ray-Ray McCloud.

These moves were made in addition to the team already having a Pro Bowl tight end in Kyle Pitts, a 1,400-yard scrimmage back in Bijan Robinson, and a former first-round receiver in Drake London.

Losing Moore for a potentially significant amount of time is not ideal at all.

The former All-American has 4.3 speed allowing him to take any screen pass, jet sweep, or slant to the house.

Depending on how bad the injury is, Atlanta may need to go out and look for an extra receiver on the free-agent market.

Speedy veterans such as Jakeem Grant and Marquise Goodwin, who are both above 30 years of age, could be cheaper options that can help fill the void left by Moore.

For now, all Atlanta can do is wait for the prognosis to see what the damage is when it comes to Moore’s right leg.

The hope is that it is not as significant as it looks.
