The Baltimore Ravens are seemingly one of the top teams on paper in the AFC.

They are coming off their first AFC Championship Game appearance since the 2012 season, and they were able to sign one of the best running backs in football in All-Pro Derrick Henry this offseason.

However, in order for them to get over that hump and win another Super Bowl, some changes still might need to be made.

Former NFL GM Michael Lombardi recently appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” and gave his take on what the Ravens need to do differently in 2024.

“This is going to be more of a team that’s in the pistol, or Lamar [Jackson]’s gonna be under center, which is what I believe he has to be. That’s when he’s most effective,” Lombardi said.

“I think you’re gonna see Lamar Jackson under center a lot more with Derrick Henry..

That will allow them to get into more play action and Lamar has the ability to lead this team to a Super Bowl” ~ @mlombardiNFL #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/5VDscNgpJy

Lombardi also said he believes that if Jackson can go under center more often, the offense can better utilize the play-action game, which could then make it tougher for opposing defenses to stop Henry.

Imagine Jackson’s game improving coming off his second NFL MVP season.

Last year, he threw only 24 touchdown passes and ran in just five scores, so it isn’t like he recorded 50 total touchdowns, threw for over 4,000 yards and ran for 1,000 more.

If the former Heisman winner can take another step toward becoming a more complete quarterback, and if Henry is close to the same player he was with the Tennessee Titans, the rest of the league could be in real trouble.

If they can tweak a few things offensively, they have a legitimate shot to bring home the Lombardi Trophy.
