The Green Bay Packers are one of the more intriguing teams in the NFL as the preseason gets underway.

After finishing 9-8 and making it to the second round of the playoffs in the first season without Aaron Rodgers, head coach Matt LaFleur, franchise quarterback Jordan Love and company look ready to contend for a championship.

LaFleur recently appeared on “Up & Adams” and revealed his preseason plan for his starters.

“We’re gonna play our guys at least in two of the three preseason games, if not more,” LaFleur said.

It would be stunning to see LaFleur play his starters in all three preseason games because the preseason is obviously far less significant than the regular season.

However, LaFleur’s angle might be to keep his best players and starters both in rhythm and in good shape before the regular season kicks off on Sept. 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.

Could he possibly want to play his starters in the first game, rest them in the second game, and then play them in the final tune-up game before the start of the regular season?

In any case, they will likely play just a portion of the games LaFleur wants them to play in so they can stay healthy and remain fresh.

For example, Love may play anywhere from a drive to a whole quarter but nowhere near the entire game.

All teams are very cautious when it comes to the preseason because they want to be prepared for when the regular season kicks off but also don’t want their best players to be put in harm’s way unless they have to be.

LaFleur has an intriguing set of decisions to make coming up.
