Heading into the 2023 NFL season, the Houston Texans were a team with a new head coach and a new starting quarterback who happened to be a rookie with the potential to be a franchise player.
Even though C.J. Stroud had a lot of upside and was without a doubt one of the most talented quarterbacks taken in the 2023 NFL Draft, there was still a lot of uncertainty about whether he’d be the real deal in the long term, let alone in his first season in Houston.
Fortunately for the Texans, Stroud was a star right out of the gate, resulting in the team’s breakout year that included an AFC South title and a playoff victory. DeMeco Ryans also proved to be the real deal as the new head coach.
Heading into the NFL offseason, the Texans wanted to capitalize on their newfound success and got aggressive in their attempts to upgrade the roster, and they were able to do just that with the additions of veterans Stefon Diggs, Joe Mixon and Danielle Hunter.
With the Texans having a formidable receiving corps and plenty of talent at Stroud’s disposal, Ryans recently was asked who will be the No. 1 option.
“Whoever gets the ball … that’s who’s No. 1,” Ryans said on “Up & Adams.”
Who do the #Texans consider to be their NO. 1 WR??

Along with Stroud quickly coming into his own during his first season in Houston, the Texans also got a big year out of rookie wide receiver Tank Dell, who played very well before going down with a season-ending injury.
The Texans’ receiving corps could be in contention for being the best in the league, with Diggs, Dell, Nico Collins, Robert Woods and Dalton Schultz leading the way.
