The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with a difficult situation in the form of the Brandon Aiyuk contract extension/trade request saga, but other than that, they have the roster to finally win their first Super Bowl championship since the 1994 season.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who himself demanded a lucrative extension and asked to be traded two years ago before receiving the contract he wanted, recently was asked what his motivation was coming into this season.
“One of my motivations is, for sure, like, losing two Super Bowls,” Samuel said, via 95.7 The Game.

San Francisco got to the Super Bowl in the 2019 season, which was Samuel’s rookie year, and had a sizable lead in the fourth quarter before blowing it and losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.
They lost again to the Chiefs in the big game last season, this time in overtime after they scored the first 10 points of the contest.
Plenty of people feel the Niners’ championship window is rapidly closing, not just because of the Aiyuk situation, but also because quarterback Brock Purdy, along with other key players, are due for new contracts in the near future.
The team has numerous stars on its talented roster, but it will be very expensive to retain all of them past this season.
Samuel himself could be on the trade block if Aiyuk does agree to an extension with the Niners, but for now, he will continue to be a vital part of their offense.
