Last week, NFL Network released its annual Top 100 Players list, which is voted on by players rather than coaches or the media.
While ranking high on the list may not bring about any practical rewards, it is something for young players to strive for.
The Green Bay Packers seem to be on the rise as much as any team in the league thanks to a number of young, emerging standouts.
Defensive end Rashan Gary has improved his production over the past few years, and though he came in at No. 50 on this Top 100 list, he said he will someday get to No. 1.
“I appreciate everybody that voted for me and there’s only time to go up,” Gary said. “… We going to get there (No. 1) one day.”

Last season, Gary had 9.0 sacks, 22 quarterback hits and seven tackles for loss, and he is one of the brightest stars the Packers have on defense.
They have a potentially elite quarterback in Jordan Love and four potential-laden wide receivers in Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed and Christian Watson, but defense could be the key when it comes to how far they will go this season.
Though their pass defense was solid in 2023, their rushing defense had some holes, and that was evident in their loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs.
The NFC North has become very competitive, and Green Bay will not only have to contend with the Detroit Lions, who won the division last season, but also a rising Chicago Bears team, as well as a Minnesota Vikings squad that is loaded with star skill players.
