Because there are so many big-name and big-talent stars performing, playing well at the Olympics isn’t always easy.
But over the last two games, French big man Rudy Gobert has had a surprisingly rough time.
According to StatMuse, Gobert has posted 0 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and just 1 field goal attempt during his last two games for France.
During those games, he only received nine minutes of playing time.
This statistic is shocking for any player at the Olympics but even more so because Gobert just came off of one of his best seasons ever.

Others pointed out that France is still doing very well even though Gobert is not.
They reminded readers that France went 2-0 during Gobert’s rocky stretch and are now on their way to the Finals in Paris.

Others used this as an opportunity to dunk on Joel Embiid, who has been having his own set of problems while playing for Team USA.
Still better than joel embiid

There is no denying that Gobert is not performing as well as he could be.
But there is also no denying that he’s one of the best centers in the league and earned his latest Defensive Player of the Year trophy a few months ago.
Plus, he has a shot at redemption because France is now just one win away from earning the gold.
If Gobert shows up in a big way for the last game of the Olympics, fans will forget about this stretch of bad performances.
Winning the gold medal is ultimately all that matters.
