On Saturday morning, Serbia’s men’s basketball team took down Germany to win the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.
Although they had their sights set on claiming gold, players for Serbia were very proud of what they accomplished.
Following the game, Bogdan Bogdanovic spoke with the press, per ClutchPoints, and praised his head coach, Svetislav Pesic.
He said that following Serbia’s recent loss to Team USA, Pesic gave a rousing and focused speech, putting them in the right headspace to bounce back and win bronze.
“That was his way. We believed. We didn’t complain,” Bogdanovic said.

Pesic has gained a lot of praise lately from many people, both in Serbia and beyond.
In a very competitive year, he has taken his young team far in the Olympics and helped them win the bronze medal.
And only days ago, he seemed incredibly close to coaching his team to the gold medal match.
There is a ton of talent on the roster, of course, but Pesic has proven he’s a special kind of coach.
He knows how to help these players perform well and clearly has their respect and love.
Now he will return home to Serbia and focus on the next World Cup, Olympics, and beyond.
Bogdanovic was just one of several great Serbian players who did so well on such a big stage.
Over the last few years, Serbia has become a country to watch when it comes to international basketball.
This year’s Olympics showed the world that the country has a lot more to offer than simply Nikola Jokic.
