Truth be told, it’s in both parties’ best interest to get past this impasse and just work things out before the start of the season.

That seemed like a long shot just a couple of days ago, but it now seems like there could be a light at the end of the tunnel.

According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the All-Pro wideout recently had a sit-down with HC Kyle Shanahan and some of the organization’s decision-makers.

Now, there’s optimism about both parties finally finding some middle ground and getting a deal done.

Schultz states that the situation remains ‘fluid’ at this point.

Notably, the Niners have been fielding calls for Aiyuk, but they’ve also made it loud and clear that they would only consider parting ways with him if they get a steep value in return.

They haven’t liked the offers they’ve gotten thus far, and while it seemed like he was close to being sent to the Pittsburgh Steelers, that might not be the case anymore.

The Niners give Aiyuk the best opportunity to pursue a Super Bowl.

He’d get to stay in nice weather, surrounded by a plethora of talent, and he’d still get plenty of money.

He may have burned some bridges with his recent antics and tantrums, but the Niners would be wise to just forgive him and move on.
