Throughout the course of the years, the best players in the NBA have also represented Team USA.

With a few exceptions, the Americans have dominated the Olympics, taking home the gold medal more often than not.

Carmelo Anthony was one of the best players in Team USA history, and he was even their leading scorer until Kevin Durant took that record not so long ago.

That’s why he’s definitely an authorized voice to talk about the best players in Team USA’s history.

With that in mind, Basketball News asked him about that, and his answers didn’t disappoint (via Legion Hoops).

Obviously, he got the ball rolling with Kobe Bryant, literally inspiring everybody with his relentless work ethic.

Then, he chose himself, who used to be the true Captain America.

Then, he has LeBron James, who was the face of defeat after getting bronze before Kobe helped him win the first of his two gold medals.

Then, he chose Kevin Durant, who’s now the all-time leading scorer and the new Captain America.

Last, but not least, he has Charles Barkley, who dominated in 1992 and 1996 when he was the undisputed best power forward on Earth.

Needless to say, this team would most likely beat every single one in history, perhaps with only the original Dream Team as the exception.

Whatever the case, there’s no wonder why Team USA sits atop of the rankings with that incredible set of talent they’ve had over the years.
