The New England Patriots got their preseason underway.
Of course, everybody was looking forward to watching Drake Maye, the No. 3 pick, on the field.
However, it was another rookie the one who stole all the headlines.
Tennessee product Joe Milton III took the field by storm in the final 19 minutes, and he made a couple of highlight plays with his arms and legs.
As per usual, that led to some big overreaction, up to the point where some people even made a case for him to be ahead of Maye in the pecking order.
That’s why sports analyst Lance Medow went out of his way to put an end to this mayhem.
In his latest show on Mad Dog Sports Radio, he urged the fans to stop overreacting about a preseason game.
“I can’t take this hyperbole out of the preseason. It’s ridiculous!”@LanceMedow is ready to skip ahead to the NFL regular season after his first taste of the preseason hype machine.

He claimed that, as much as Milton did his job, he was going against third and four-stringers who will most likely not even make an NFL roster, let alone actually play.
As bad as the Carolina Panthers might be next season, they will have two starting-caliber safeties on the field next season, so Milton won’t get that kind of opportunity.
Medow claimed that it’s always the same thing with preseason overreactions, so it was about time people put an end to this once and for all.
He makes some valid points, and the preseason is always meaningless outside from the few drives we get to see the starters on the field.
Then again, who knows? Some players wind up making a big impact and even the roster.
