The Miami Dolphins beat the Atlanta Falcons for their preseason opener, but they lost a lot in the process.
Mike McDaniel will be forced to play the season without one of their key players.
According to a report by Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, backup offensive lineman Kion Smith suffered a torn ACL in the preseason opener.

Smith usually plays at offensive tackle, but he started at left guard.
Unfortunately, he was rolled up on the team’s second offensive drive, and while he was able to stay on the field for a while, he was eventually helped off of it by the medical staff.
Smith joined the team back in 2021.
He spent time with the practice squad but was also a key contributor on the active roster, even making nine appearances last season.
He closed out the year on a high note by playing the bulk of his snaps with the New York Jets and Washington Commanders.
The Dolphins didn’t waste time to make moves in the wake of the injury.
They brought back veteran OL Chasen Hines — who had been released earlier in the offseason — and placed Smith on season-ending Injured Reserve.
On top of that, the Dolphins have another key injury on the offensive line, as projected starting center Aaron Brewer is currently injured and listed as week to week.
