The NFL preseason brings anticipation and excitement to fans across the globe.
Every August marks the beginning of preseason games and signals that we’re that much closer to another regular season.
Of course, this time of year also means daily additions to the league’s injury report, as the Baltimore Ravens can attest.
Jeff Zrebiec of the Athletic-Baltimore recently shared on Twitter that Ravens rookie corner Nate Wiggins avoided a serious injury during Friday night’s preseason game with Philadelphia.
Zrebiec also noted that the Ravens believe Wiggins will be ready for Week 1.
The Ravens are confident that rookie CB Nate Wiggins, who hurt his shoulder Friday night, avoided a really significant injury. Wiggins could miss some practice time but Ravens still optimistic for Week 1.

The team drafted Wiggins, who played collegiately for Clemson, in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Baltimore coaches are excited at the prospect of Wiggins’ ability to be a lock-down corner.
That talent was on full display Friday night as the corner had several pass break-ups and nearly intercepted a Kenny Pickett throw.
In the third quarter of the game, Wiggins was still on the field making plays when he injured his right shoulder while dropping Eagles running back Lew Nichols for a loss.
The rookie bounced up to celebrate, then headed to the sideline favoring his right arm.
After a few minutes in the medical tent, Wiggins and the Ravens medical staff headed to the locker room.
At Clemson, Wiggins became a notable pro prospect in his 2022 sophomore year when he broke up 13 passes and added an interception.
Then, in 2023, he broke up six passes, had two interceptions, forced two fumbles and had one sack.
Instead of returning for another year at Clemson, Wiggins declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
He worked out at the NFL Combine and wowed NFL coaches in attendance with a 4.28 40-yard dash time.
