Team USA took home its fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal in men’s basketball on Saturday afternoon with a 98-87 victory over France, as Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry iced the game down the stretch with four threes over a two-minute stretch that put the nail in the coffin for the host team.

It may have been the first and last Olympics for Curry and the potential Olympic farewell tour for LeBron James and Kevin Durant, but fellow Team USA superstar Anthony Davis revealed his thoughts after the game about whether or not he’ll participate in the 2028 Olympics.

After the game, Davis said he’s likely to participate in the 2028 games, and the Los Angeles Lakers star would be 35 years old at that point and serve as a key veteran leader for his host city and country.

Davis was a key member of this gold medal squad and his skill set fit the international style perfectly as head coach Steve Kerr often called his number when starting center Joel Embiid was struggling.

He played a vital role in the gold medal game having to deal with NBA superstars Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert, putting up eight points on 4-for-5 shooting to go with nine rebounds, two steals, and four huge blocks in his 20 minutes of action off the bench.

Given his injury history, four more years’ worth of wear and tear will be a lot for Davis to handle leading up to the 2028 Olympics, but if he is still healthy and productive at that point, he’d surely be a valuable member of the team once again.
