The Denver Broncos may have had a rough 2023 NFL season, but the team looks to be trending in the right direction so far this summer.

Head coach Sean Payton has a new quarterback to work with in first-round pick Bo Nix, and the early returns are positive as the rookie recorded 125 passing yards and one touchdown in his preseason debut.

Nix is competing with Jarrett Stidham for the starting quarterback job and made a strong case with his performance against the Indianapolis Colts.

However, Nix isn’t the only one locked in a position battle on the offense as players like tight Lucas Krull are vying for a spot.

Krull is currently listed as the third-string tight end on the roster and looked solid against the Colts.

However, Krull suffered what appeared to be a foot injury and was carted back to the locker room via Susie Wargin of Denver Broncos Radio.

“Broncos Injury Update: Lucas Krull was evaluated in the medical tent has left on a cart to the locker room. Waiting on official word from the team,” Wargin reported.

Although the injury didn’t appear serious on the field, it looks like the team is being cautious with Krull.

A former undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh, Krull originally signed with the New Orleans Saints before joining the Broncos.

Before exiting against the Colts, Krull caught all four of his targets for 31 yards.

Hopefully the injury isn’t serious and Krull can get back on the field sooner rather than later.
