After an incredible 2022 NFL season in head coach Brian Daboll’s first year with the team, the New York Giants were unable to follow up that year with a successful 2023 campaign, as they ended up taking two steps back rather than a giant leap forward.
Along with losing superstar running back Saquon Barkley to the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles in NFL free agency, the Giants saw quarterback Daniel Jones regress after signing a lucrative contract extension after the 2022 season, which is obviously not a good look for the franchise nor the quarterback.
Heading into the 2024 NFL season, Jones will be on the hot seat in New York as he will have to prove his worth to the team, or he could very well see the franchise bring in another quarterback next offseason through the draft or in free agency.
With a lot of pressure expected on Jones to show he’s the right man for the job under center in New York, Kay Adams asked him what he has to prove during the upcoming regular season via Up & Adams.
“I think we ALL feel like we have something to prove,” Jones said.
What’s motivating #Giants QB Daniel Jones going into this season after not playing for NINE months??

Jones gave the typical response of a player who knows his job is on the line but did go the team route in terms of who needs to prove something moving forward, which probably wasn’t the best way to go.
Fortunately for Jones, he got an upgrade in the passing game with the addition of rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who could be a game-changer for the Giants offense in 2024.
