The United States men’s basketball team has officially won their fifth consecutive gold medal.

This achievement came after months of training, as the team worked together to become one cohesive unit.

With a team full of All-Stars and potential Hall of Famers, many people assumed that Steve Kerr, the head coach of the team, would spread out playing time accordingly.

That didn’t end up being the case, as some players had significantly more minutes than others.

Take Jayson Tatum, for example.

Tatum was viewed as a dominant player coming into the Olympics, but Kerr didn’t feel a need, want, or desire to play him much down the stretch.

After having this experience, Tatum has expressed some frustration, which may have come out on social media.

As reporter Justin Turpin shared on Twitter, Tatum added a tweet to his Instagram story, which read “We will avenge Jayson Tatum.”

While fans don’t specifically know what Tatum is talking about, one can infer that he’s not-so-subtly referring to his snub in the Olympics.

He is one of the best players in the NBA, but for whatever reason, he didn’t get an opportunity to showcase his skills on an international stage.

It might have been frustrating for him to endure this, but Tatum now needs to focus on the task at hand.

He needs to help lead the Celtics to another deep playoff run, perhaps, bringing them their second title in as many years.

Tatum might not have been utilized on Team USA’s roster, but the Celtics are dependent on him.
