Team USA was filled with multiple NBA icons during this year’s Olympics and all of them performed very well.
But it might be Kevin Durant who had the best showing in the big games.
Durant is now the first four-time Olympic gold medalist in men’s basketball and is also the all-time leading scorer by a lot.
He has recorded 518 career points for Team USA, which is a massive number.
However, Durant thinks someone will surpass that total at some point.
“I can see somebody beating that number,” Durant said to Marc Spears of Andscape.
“Records are made to be broken, like I said. My goal every time is to represent my country, my state, my street, my family. And to help push the game forward. Since I’ve been here, we’ve done that,” he added.
Considering @usabasketball Kevin Durant’s record scoring average of 18.5 points, one likely has to better that in average over four Olympic Games to surpass his total points. “I can see somebody beating that number,” Durant said. Do you agree? #Olympics https://t.co/UEF2hvDtXx

Spears pointed out that Durant earned a scoring average of 18.5 points during his appearances at the Olympics.
His 518 points are ahead of LeBron James, who is second with 358, and Carmelo Anthony, who has 336.
Considering Anthony is retired and James just played his last Olympics, they won’t be beating Durant’s total.
But the two-time champion says that someone will.
Will it be Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker, or another young star who appeared alongside Durant at this year’s Olympics?
Or will it be an NBA star who has yet to appear with Team USA?
Durant has done so much for Team USA but remains humble about it all, stating that he has always strived to make his home country proud.
He has definitely done that repeatedly.
Although other stars like James and Steph Curry might receive more headlines, Durant has technically done the most for the national team.
He is proud of all he’s accomplished but also comfortable with someone else breaking his record.
