The Phoenix Suns probably need to make a few more tweaks to their roster if they wish to be serious playoff contenders over the next few years.

But they will also need to continue to work on their coaching staff as well.

According to Michael Scotto, the Suns are hiring Oronde Taliaferro as their Director of Scouting.

This isn’t Taliaferro’s first time being in charge of scouting, as he was previously a scout for the Brooklyn Nets.

Scouting is obviously a very important part of creating a strong NBA team.

Scouts are in charge of finding the next best things for the league, the up-and-coming players who could be stars someday.

Does this mean that the Suns are thinking of going younger and filling the rest of their roster with youthful athletes?

That would make sense considering their best star, Kevin Durant, is aging, and the team has a history of injury problems.

At the same time, the addition of Taliaferro may just be because they want to bolster their scouting abilities and not because they have some grand plan featuring young players.

The Suns have a lot on the line in the upcoming season.

After a very disappointing season that ended in a sweep in the playoffs, Phoenix fans want to see much more from their team.

Will this be the season they finally turn things around and deliver on the promise of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal or are some changes on the horizon?

This will be only his first season with the Suns but Taliaferro could be very busy.
