The Miami Dolphins didn’t like what they saw from Vic Fangio.

The renowned coach didn’t seem to mesh with some of his players, and it didn’t take long before he parted ways with the organization.

Now, with Anthony Weaver at the helm, they want to finally take a step forward on that end of the field.

With that in mind, Kay Adams asked HC Mike McDaniel to describe his new-look defense in three words, and he had an interesting choice of words.

He claimed they’re aggressive, multiple, and strain — in the sense that they play to the whistle.

The Dolphins had a sound defense when Brian Flores was there, but their offense struggled to catch up.

Notably, things have been different since Mike McDaniel took the reins.

They’ve had the most explosive and entertaining offensive unit in the entire league for years now, but they’ve struggled to get stops.

Fortunately for them, Jaelan Phillips is back on the field after recovering from a season-ending injury, and they will also have Jalen Ramsey from the jump this time around.

The Dolphins haven’t won a playoff game in decades, and as satisfied as the fans and the front office are with McDaniel’s work, his seat could get a little hotter if they struggle to beat winning teams again this season.

Patience could run out in South Beach, and the defense will need to make up for Tua Tagovailoa’s shortcomings if they find themselves playing in the blistering cold again late in the season.
