In the aftermath of a disappointing 2023 NFL season, mostly because superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with a season-ending injury in Week 1, the New York Jets set out to make some upgrades to their roster during the NFL offseason.
Along with some valuable additions to the offensive side of the football, with the team bringing in wide receiver Mike Williams and left tackle Tyron Smith, the team also made a key addition to the defensive side of the ball that no one saw coming.
The Jets were able to make a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire disgruntled linebacker Hasson Reddick, who headed to his new team with hopes of signing a lucrative long-term deal.
As a result of Reddick’s desire to ink a new deal, the talented linebacker sat out of his first training camp with the Jets and quickly became a distraction for a team hoping to be a legitimate Super Bowl title contender in 2024.
Now, things have escalated regarding Reddick, who asked the Jets to trade him because they haven’t been able to agree on a contract extension, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

It seems as though everything the Jets have tried to do over the past two years to improve on both sides of the football has not gone according to plan, with Rodgers going down right out of the gate last season and now this unfortunate situation with Reddick.
Although things aren’t looking good right now, the Jets can still turn things around with Reddick and have a solid season if Rodgers is back to form.
