The Atlanta Falcons are one of the teams in the NFL that decided to make some sweeping changes to their coaching and roster during the offseason, with the team now having a new head coach and a new starting quarterback.
Arthur Smith was not the answer for this football team as head coach, leading the team to explore their options on the open market, including former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and chose to bring in Raheem Morris, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams.
Along with Morris in the fold in Atlanta, the Falcons made a substantial move in NFL free agency by signing veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Heading into the 2024 NFL season, the Falcons have high hopes of turning things around and becoming a competitive football team once again, like it was during the Matt Ryan era in Atlanta.
That said, the team wants to make all the right moves moving forward to have the best roster possible before Week 1, and the team made a move on Monday that might help with that as they signed Josh Thompson, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

Although Thompson might not be considered a game-changer for the Falcons, as most players that sign with a team this late in the process aren’t notable additions, he may still help the squad in several different areas if able to make the final roster.
The Falcons will host the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 8 to get their 2024 campaign underway in Week 1.
