The Detroit Lions were, surprisingly, one of the best teams in the NFL last year.
After years of heartbreak and disappointment, the Lions turned things around in 2023.
Not only did they make it to the playoffs, but they got to the NFC Championship, falling just short against the San Francisco 49ers.
Some teams might view this as a disappointment, but this was a step in the right direction for the Lions.
They came into the offseason with a lot of hope that 2024 will be the season they make it to the Super Bowl, knowing they have come a long way.
While they remain optimistic about their chances, the Lions just hit a major roadblock.
According to Ari Meirov, standout running back, Jahmyr Gibbs, was seen leaving practice with a leg injury.

Fans don’t know the specifics of the injury, but it didn’t look good at the time it happened.
Leg injuries can be especially detrimental to running backs, as they primarily use their legs for their explosion.
With any luck, Gibbs’ injury isn’t that serious, and he’ll return to the field in no time.
The Lions relied on him and David Montgomery in a two-back system last season and planned to implement something similar in 2024.
If Montgomery is the primary back for an extended period of time, it could decrease their chances for the playoff run fans and analysts are expecting.
Only time will tell what happens to Gibbs, and what the Lions’ backup plan will be in the meantime.
