Following his terrific performance at the Olympics, some people are once again calling LeBron James the best basketball player of all time.
It’s not just fans saying this, it is some of the most well-respected analysts too.
Speaking to The Volume, Jason Timpf said, “The greatest basketball player to ever play the game is LeBron James.”
He listed all the reasons why James is so terrific and then said this latest Olympics victory secured his place in history.
“If this is the cherry on top of his career, it’s a pretty damn good one,” he stated.

Timpf said that if you were tasked with creating a basketball team and relying on just one player from the entirety of their careers, you would choose James.
He added that Michael Jordan was the most dominant player compared to his peers, but James’ longevity and his level of excellence for so many years cannot be matched.
Even at 39 years old James is still one of the most consequential players in the league and was one of the most impactful parts of Team USA this year.
Age has slowed him down a little bit but not as much as people expected and his basketball IQ is still second to none.
The debate about James being the best of all time has reignited following this run at the Olympics.
It is a debate that is sure to continue for years, with some people claiming that James is better than Jordan and others saying he doesn’t surpass him.
For Timpf, this gold medal has cemented James’ status.
