Team USA’s men’s basketball team did what they said they were going to do.
After a few close calls against Serbia and France, the United States utilized its star power and Olympic experience to bring home the gold.
It wasn’t an easy road, and they had to heavily rely on their veteran players, not their young, fresh players to get the job done.
The trio of Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and LeBron James proved too much to handle for opposing defenses that broke down over time.
Curry was particularly dominant from beyond the arc in the Serbia game, making nine of 14 threes in his 36-point affair.
He received endless praise for this performance from fans and analysts alike, but there is one analyst who provided a caveat to Curry’s performance.
Rob Parker and Martin Weiss talked about Team USA in a recent segment of FOX Sports Radio, where Parker said, “Steph Curry, while making big shots, did not make any clutch shots in helping the USA win gold.”

Despite Curry putting up a herculean effort against Serbia, Parker refused to say he was clutch in those moments.
Weiss tried to set him straight, saying, “You can’t tell me that what we saw in this gold medal game was not clutch. The reason the score was what it was because of Steph.”
There might be dissenting ideas between this duo, but Curry, Durant and James showed that age is just a number when it comes to winning gold at the Olympics.
