The San Francisco 49ers and Brandon Aiyuk continue to go back and forth.
At first. the talented wide receiver did everything in his power to force his way off of the team.
The Niners wanted to keep him around, but they finally started fielding calls for his services once he formally requested a trade.
Then, another report claimed that both parties had picked up talks about a new deal, and there was optimism about getting a new contract.
Now, Dianna Russini of The Athletic claims that a third team could get involved in any potential trade for Aiyuk.
Could San Francisco and Pittsburgh bring in a third team to facilitate a Brandon Aiyuk trade?@DMRussini doesn’t rule it out…

The Pittsburgh Steelers were reported to be the frontrunner to land Aiyuk, with the Cleveland Browns also keeping tabs on his situation.
Aiyuk reportedly doesn’t want to play in Cleveland, and he already snubbed the New England Patriots.
As for the Washington Commanders, there were obvious ties there because of his relationship with Jayden Daniels, but they reportedly weren’t willing to meet the Niners’ asking price.
On the one hand, we have a team asking a lot for a player who wants to leave and to get a lot of money.
On the other hand, we have a player looking to get more money than all teams are willing to give him.
At the end of the day, it seems like someone will have to settle for the best deal available.
