The Cleveland Browns are locking up one of their best players for years to come.
After months of speculation, they’ve finally agreed to terms on a contract extension with star linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
According to a report by NFL insider Ari Meirov, the star defender is signing a three-year deal worth $39 million, which includes $25 million guaranteed.

Now, making around $13 million per year, the young Notre Dame product will be the sixth-highest-paid linebacker in the game in terms of average salary per year, trailing Pittsburgh Steelers star Patrick Queen, who’s making $13.7 million per season.
The 24-year-old rose to prominence last season in his first year under defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.
He had a Pro Bowl season in 2023, logging 101 total tackles, 20 of those for losses.
He also had one forced fumble, two picks, and 3.5 sacks in 16 appearances (13 starts) for Kevin Stefanski’s team.
The Browns had one of the best defensive units in the game last season, so even though linebackers aren’t crucial to Schwartz’s system, it was only right that they did right by him.
Also, the team had some tough losses at the position in the offseason, with Anthony Walker and Sione Takitaki walking away in free agency.
He’s in line to be a prominent player and might even be their green-dot guy on the defensive side of the field, given his leadership and football smarts.
The Browns are looking to build off last season’s momentum, and JOK should be one of their core defensive guys for years to come now.
