Trae Young is the face of the Atlanta Hawks and has been for years.
With that being said, trade rumors have swirled around him many times during his six years in the league.
Young has received a lot of support from people during those times, including from one of his biggest on-court opponents.
According to NBC Sports, Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors reached out to Young during a batch of trade rumors a few years ago.
Speaking on the “Podcast P” show, Young revealed the specifics of the conversation between him and Curry.
Young said:
“He don’t always hit me. Every now and then he’ll tap in and touch base. But I remember the first time I was ever on the trade block, it was right before a play-in game, I think it was two years ago, and he texted me just telling me to stay focused and keep my head going.”

“So he’ll drop some knowledge and give me some advice every now and then as a supporter. He’s always been helpful,” Young added.
Curry and Young have a lot of similarities.
They are smaller, faster guards who are very talented with the ball and have developed a knack for an impressive three-point shot.
They are also the biggest stars for their respective teams, with a lot on their shoulders and high expectations for their performances.
However, Young’s name has repeatedly been tied to trade rumors as his Hawks have struggled to make an impact in the Eastern Conference.
The rumors returned last season but Young ultimately remained in Atlanta, while his teammate Dejounte Murray moved to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Curry and Young might be on-court rivals but this story from the Hawks star shows that they have a deep respect for one another.
