The New York Jets haven’t made the playoffs since 2010, so their fans know a thing or two about what it’s like to sink to levels unbeknownst to other fanbases.

Mike Greenberg said that one situation the team is currently enduring represents a new low even by this team’s standards.

Greenberg recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and said that “This Haason Reddick situation is a new low even by Jets standards.” and added, “It’s the most ludicrous miss by any team I’ve ever heard of.”

Reddick requested a trade from the Jets recently after just being acquired this offseason in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, but the team has quickly come out and said that it would not be honoring his request and he needs to report to camp or continue to be fined.

The Jets had been relying on Reddick to take over for Bryce Huff and serve as the team’s top edge rusher, but Reddick is still fighting for a new contract after four straight double-digit sack seasons, which is the main reason he was traded by the Eagles in the first place.

The Jets knew Reddick’s contract would be a priority when they traded for him, yet they still haven’t given him the extension he is looking for.

Reddick is 29 years old and has missed just one game in his seven years in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, and the Eagles.

Reddick has 50.5 sacks over the last four seasons and is one of the best pass rushers in the league, and the Jets have to get this sorted out soon because they do not have the edge rushing depth to accommodate for a loss of this magnitude.
