One of the big names that was traded in the NFL earlier this offseason was former first-round quarterback Zach Wilson.
After being traded by the New York Jets after three tough years in the Big Apple, he is now in the midst of a quarterback battle with rookie Bo Nix and veteran Jarrett Stidham out at Mile High.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton was recently asked by the Denver media about how Wilson has performed so far in the preseason.
“There’s a poise because he’s been there…He’s aggressive. I like that he’s gonna take shots…I’m encouraged,” Payton stated.

Payton also noted that the team has to figure out who is starting under center so that the players can believe in the direction of the team.
Few people understand the quarterback position better than Payton.
A former NFL quarterback himself, Payton has coached the likes of Tony Romo and most notably Drew Brees.
When it comes to Wilson, he is a player who, although he hasn’t had a ton of winning experience, has still been a starter and won games in this league.
That is actually the reason why he could have a leg up on both Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham.
Payton likes his experience and ability to be aggressive.
Time can only tell if Payton feels the same way in a few weeks when he will have to choose the starter.
Wilson will get some more preseason action when the Denver Broncos host the Green Bay Packers this weekend in their second-to-last tune-up before the regular season.
