Over the past few years, the Los Angeles Rams have been one of the best teams in the NFC for two reasons, with one being the presence of superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald on defense and veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford under center for head coach Sean McVay.

Unfortunately for the Rams, Stafford is getting old at 36 while arguably no longer being in his prime, and Donald announced his retirement from the NFL during the offseason after an incredible career with the storied franchise.

Despite potentially being on the downside of his career with the Rams, Stafford is still a formidable option for Los Angeles at the quarterback position, as he may have a few more years left in him playing at a high level.

With talk of Stafford’s skills potentially being on the decline, the veteran quarterback recently admitted that he couldn’t throw the football as far as he once did via Da’Mon Jackson of the Golden Ram Buzz Podcast.

“It probably starts with a six instead of a seven like it used to, but it is probably a high six number,” Stafford said.

Quarterbacks don’t have to have a canon to being great quarterbacks in the NFL, as many have gotten by being elite in other areas, especially later in their careers.

Stafford might be a veteran quarterback who can no longer rely on his big arm, but he can still get the job done for the Rams as long as he stays healthy.
