It took them months — literally — but the Dallas Cowboys have finally made another signing.
According to a report by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Jerry Jones’ team has officially added another pass rusher to the mix.
Former New York Jets defensive end Carl Lawson will join America’s Team.

He’ll be the second recent addition to Mike Zimmer’s defense, as the team recently traded for New York Giants’ DT Jordan Phillips as well.
This comes on the heels of Sam Williams being lost for the season with a torn ACL earlier in training camp.
The 29-year-old Lawson worked out for the Cowboys in California and looked sharp, according to reports.
He was expected to be a prominent player when he signed a three-year deal worth $45 million for the New York Jets in 2021, but he wound up making just 23 appearances.
He missed the 2021 campaign with an Achilles tendon rupture he suffered in the preseason.
Lawson was then able to come back in 2022 and played all the games, finishing the campaign with 7.0 sacks.
Then, he missed most of the preseason with a back injury and lost his starting spot for the 2023 campaign, and by the time he was healthy enough to be on the field again, he wasn’t needed at all.
The Cowboys will certainly hope he can go back to being the player he was in his four-year stint with the Cincinnati Bengals, and health will most likely be the major concern here.
