The Denver Broncos went through a major roster overhaul in the offseason.
Parting ways with quarterback Russell Wilson forced them to absorb a massive salary cap hit, and as such, they just couldn’t afford to keep some of their best players around.
Now, they’re facing another problem.
They have yet to agree on a contract extension with star cornerback Patrick Surtain II, arguably the best at his position in the entire league.
With that in mind, Kay Adams asked Surtain whether he could see himself playing somewhere else.
Despite his current situation, Surtain was quick to dismiss that notion.
“At this moment, no,” Surtain responded, via “Up & Adams.” “… I don’t see myself going anywhere further. Obviously, contract talks gonna play a big role, but at the end of the day, I love it here.”
Can Patrick Surtain imagine playing anywhere but Denver????

He said he’s comfortable with Denver and that he has plenty of love and respect for the organization, adding that he knows they do their best to do right by their players
The Broncos picked up Surtain’s fifth-year player option, and he’s slated to make $19.8 million this season.
Technically, the Broncos could wait until after the season to sign him to an extension, although that could end up meaning they would have to pay him even more money.
Surtain could and should reset the cornerback market, and there’s absolutely no doubt that every single team in the league would be more than glad to move some things around to accommodate him on their roster.
The Broncos aren’t expected to be among the strongest teams in the AFC right now, and that could also be a factor for Surtain in a potential decision to force his way out.
For now, however, it seems like Broncos fans have nothing to worry about.
