With the start of the 2024 NFL season only a few weeks away, every team in the league is preparing for another year of football, with some talented young players arriving who could make an impact right out of the gate.

As usual, there are tons of shows and media making the rounds discussing the promising young players coming into the NFL and which rookies will be in contention for regular-season awards, like Offensive Rookie of the Year and Defensive Rookie of the Year.

It comes as no surprise that quarterback Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears is atop the list when it comes to the favorite to win best offensive rookie in 2024, followed by Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., but things get a little more interesting when it comes to the rookies on defense.

According to ESPN BET, linebacker Dallas Turner of the Minnesota Vikings, the No. 17 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is the favorite, with Indianapolis Colts defensive end Laiatu Latu, who at No. 15 overall was the first defensive player picked, right behind him.

With the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft filled with notable quarterbacks, wide receivers and offensive linemen, players on the defensive side of the football took a backseat and weren’t mentioned as much, meaning a lot of these players aren’t household names, at least not yet.

It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for these rookies this season, as there will be plenty of storylines about which young players are turning heads around the NFL.
