After the 2022 NFL season came to an end for the New York Giants, knocked out of the second round of the NFL playoffs by the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles, the future still looked bright for head coach Brian Daboll and company as they appeared to be a team on the rise in the NFC.

The campaign was such a success that quarterback Daniel Jones was awarded a contract extension, which many believed should’ve gone to superstar running back Saquon Barkley instead, as he seemed like the more valuable player to the franchise.

However, Jones got the big money and then had a forgettable season the following year, while Barkley ultimately chose to leave the team and sign with the Eagles as a free agent, which was not a good look for the Giants, to say the least.

With the 2023 NFL season becoming a drastic turn in the wrong direction for the Giants and Jones, the pressure is on coming into the 2024 campaign, with the veteran potentially playing for his job in New York.

Although many Giants fans would like to see a change at quarterback, former NFL star Greg Jennings of FOX Sports remains bullish on Jones.

“I am not going to give up on Daniel Jones,” Jennings said on “First Thing First.”

Although Jennings thinks there’s still hope for Jones in New York, he’ll have much to prove in 2024, especially with the Giants bringing in a potentially elite downfield weapon in rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Nabers was selected by the Giants with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, with Marvin Harrison Jr. the only wideout going ahead of him, to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 4 overall.

If Jones can build some chemistry with Nabers and also win some games, there may be a future for him with Big Blue, but if not, the Giants will almost certainly look to make a change.
