The San Francisco 49ers have gone through a tumultuous offseason when it comes to their wide receiver room.
Brandon Aiyuk is still unhappy with the organization and their lack of assurance with a contract extension, and Ricky Pearsall, their first-round pick from this year, is dealing with a shoulder injury.
Both players were slated to have a big role in this offense to start the year, which is now in jeopardy.
Kyle Shanahan recently made a few comments about Pearsall’s health, trying to stay as diplomatic as possible.
As Shanahan said via KNBR, “We got to make sure he doesn’t come out and get re-hurt so we’re trying to get it as solid as it can and hopefully we’ll get him in here next week.”

At the moment, the 49ers appear to be handling Pearsall with kid gloves, not trying to push him any further than they have to.
Especially with Aiyuk’s status in the air, they cannot afford to lose another receiver for longer than necessary.
Pearsall’s return timetable remains to be seen, but 49ers fans are starting to press the panic button ahead of the 2024 season.
This is a team that has, at minimum, made it to the NFC Championship in the last two seasons.
Will they find a way to get back to that place in 2024 with their wide receiver situation being the way it is?
Fans and analysts will soon find out, as the regular season is slated to kick off in less than a month.
