The Seattle Seahawks may not make the NFL playoffs this season, but they do have a solid duo at the wide receiver position.

Their top option is D.K. Metcalf, a two-time Pro Bowler, and he and Tyler Lockett have fans believing that the team could surprise people as it did in the 2022 campaign and reach the postseason.

With the 2024 Paris Olympics now in the books, Metcalf was asked how well he could do in the 100-meter dash if he were to fully focus on it.

“A gold medal, in my mind,” Metcalf told SiriusXM NFL Radio.

If @Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf ran in the 100m what would he win?

In the 100-meter dash at this year’s Games, Noah Lyles of the United States took home the gold but then fell short in the 200-meter dash.

He ended up with a bronze medal in the longer event and it was later revealed that he was suffering from the coronavirus during the race.

Metcalf is a legitimate speed threat, as he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.33 seconds before he was the last pick of the second round in the 2019 NFL Draft.

As a rookie, he had 58 catches for 900 yards and seven touchdowns, and the following year had a career-high 1,303 receiving yards plus 10 touchdowns.

In 2023, he put up 1,114 yards and eight touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to push the Seahawks into the postseason.

They’re hoping to improve their defense, which ranked toward the bottom of the league in several categories last season, in order to get back to the playoffs in an improved NFC.
